In the spirit of John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Brad Stanfield & Periel Marr, the core members of Freedom People, bring the message of Peace and Love through music.

Brad & Periel write, produce and perform their own timeless style of upbeat modern pop/rock songs with socially conscious themes from a global perspective. They create the sort of music that you can comfortably listen to at various points throughout the day, for example on your way to work, when playing a few games at Casino.com (www.casino.com) or when chilling with friends. It has that laid back vibe that still manages to hit you in all the right places.

The couple met in front of a tour bus parked on the street where Periel had lived for years and Brad had recently moved to. Brad invited Periel into his "hippie pad studio" and played her his song, "Garden of Love". When Periel heard the line "Let's share a life of laughter, love and music", it was love at first sound. They were engaged two months later and married in June of 2004.

Freedom People have performed at various indoor venues, numerous festivals and peace marches/rally concerts in North America where many audiences have been in excess of 10,000. "We are looking forward to traveling the globe to spread messages of peace, love and freedom in a fun way through our music, reaching an even wider audience", Brad explains.

In 1999, Brad traveled to Geneva as a solo artist (billed as the "Minstrel Of Peace") to perform at the United Nations for the 50th anniversary re-signing of the Geneva Conventions.

Periel began singing at a young age and studied classical voice as well as attending the prestigious Goodman School of Drama in her home town of Chicago. She earned her way into the Actor's Equity Union and the Screen Actors Guild but found that acting was not as much of an outlet for creative self expression as music. She turned to songwriting after experiencing a spiritual awakening. Periel fronted her own solo pop/rock project and independently shot and produced two music videos before meeting her match in Brad. In addition to being a peace activist, Periel is also an animal rescuer and activist.

In 2001, Brad & Periel formed Freedom People as a vehicle in which they could write and record their unique blend of "Summer of Love" 1960's-70's inspired songs in a combined modern rock and electric folk format. At the start of the Iraq War in 2003, they took to the streets armed with only an acoustic guitar, their voices and their increasingly popular ideals. Soon, they were playing to thousands of appreciative fans united under the cause of peace, love and freedom.
